Kahuku Beach Clean-up
An International Year of the Reef event
Thursday 4th September, 2008
2:45pm - 5:15pm

Volunteers are needed to help clear marine debris from the Kahuku coastline in order to protect marine life. Volunteers are also needed to help with the following:

- set up (1:30pm-2:30pm),
- check in desk/support crew (2:30pm-5:15pm)
- pack up (5:15pm-6pm), and assist with check-in
- gate/parking attendant/s (1:30pm-5:30pm)
- transporting debris in pick-up trucks

Please call 393 2168 if you can help with any of these positions or if you have a pick-up truck and can assist.

To register for the beach clean-up, please phone 393 2168 by Tuesday 2nd September.
Directions and parking information will be given to registered participants.

Please bring your own water container, a bucket, pen, clipboard and wear sturdy shoes, hat, and sunscreen.
Bags and gloves will be provided.

A prize drawing will take place at the end of the clean-up. To be eligible for the prize drawing, participants must register for the clean-up and be present at the drawing which will take place at the end of the clean-up.

Prizes include: David Helvarg's book "50 Ways to Save the Ocean", EcoUsable water bottles, International Year of the Reef t-shirts, Kale's Natural Foods gift basket, and B.E.A.C.H. reusable shopping bags.

Participants include: Roz Savage, Blue Frontier Campaign, Algalita Marine Research Foundation, and B.E.A.C.H.
